Biography for Michael Caines

Michael Caines is the Executive Head Chef at 2 Michelin-starred Gidleigh Park in Devon and Food and Beverage Director of Abode Hotels. Prior to this, Michael spent an influential three years under his mentor Raymond Blanc at Le Manoir and two years in France working with superstar chefs such as Joel Robuchon. It was during this time that Michael learnt how to impress with simple, yet delicious, dishes by simply changing a couple of ingredients.

Amongst numerous other accolades, Michael has cooked at 10 Downing Street for the PM, took part in BBC2's 'Great British Menu' to cook for the Queen and 2006 saw Michael being awarded an MBE for his services to the industry. Michael appears on 'Market Kitchen' and BBC2's 'Saturday Kitchen' regularly, and writes a regular column for `Food & Travel' magazine.
