Serving suggestions
- Tickler cheddar is the perfect cheese for a ploughmans lunch: it complements a crusty roll, pork pie, chutney and pickled onions really well
- As part of a cheese board alongside a Wensleydale, Stilton, brie or Camembert and perhaps a mild cheese - red Leicester.
- Take the cheese out of the fridge about an hour before serving for optimal flavour
- A cheese sandwich made with Tickler is a tasty way to enjoy this cheddar
- When making a macaroni cheese, Tickler is a great ingredient to use
- Almost too good to be used for cheese on toast, it's definitely worth a try. Tickler is very nice grilled on toast and when served with a splash of Worcester sauce it is just delicious
Wine recommendations
Despite the traditional pairing being port with stilton, a nice port works very
well with extra mature cheddars and Tickler in particular.
Red wine recommendations to accompany Tickler:
Zinfandel
Burgundy (Gevrey Chambertin is particularly good with Tickler)
Rioja
If you are more partial to white wine then our recommendations are:
Viognier
Chardonnay
Sauvignon Blanc
Pouilly-Fumé
